Join us to hear Cristina Feldman share her insights from a lifetime of meditation and study of the Brahma Viharas. In what she termed a bus tour, she will bring these teachings into language appropriate for our contemporary culture. Christina is the author of the book Boundless Heart: The Buddha's Path of Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity. This classic text is a modern interpretation of these four heart qualities common to all yogis everywhere and are expressed in Book1:33 of the Yoga Sutras. These practices from ancient India have been preserved for over 2,500 years by Yogis and followers of Buddha. This is a week-end program on Zoom and videotapes of the program will be available to registrants.

After personally working with these qualities for 50 years, Christina has developed a view of them that extends the practices to make them more accessible to western audiences who are less familiar and perhaps less comfortable with meditation techniques. Her book, Boundless Heart, outlines these practices that cultivate the qualities of heart of kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity. I am very excited for our community to be able to provide a platform to present these teachings that are so needed in today’s conflict saturated world. I hope you will join us on Zoom.
You can find other on-line programs from Christina developed by the on-line learning division of Tricycle Magazine. If you want to learn more about Buddha's basic philosophy, the first one, called The Four Noble Truths, is an excellent overview. This course is co-taught by four of the faculty of Bodhi College; Stephen Batchelor, John Peacock, Akincano Weber and Christina Feldman. Another offering with Tricycle Magazine is Mindfulness: Its Origins, Purpose, and Transformational Power, again with the four Bodhi College faculty, Stephen, John, Akincano and Christina. Most recently she has offered a course with Chris Cullen called Universal Empathy: A Fresh Look at the Qualities of the Heart. It is outstanding and is best studied with a group to be able to share and compare your reactions to the practices that are being taught.
Christina has also recently published an academic text book with psychologist William Kuyken called Mindfulness: Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Psychology. And HERE is a link to her Amazon page which lists all of her publication, including an early collection of Wisdom Stories with Jack Kornfield.
