This month, I will be sharing my personal perspective on dharma practice for the Dharma Share program. I have been nurturing the Bhavana Community to provide resources for enhancing my own knowledge of the Buddhist traditions through discussion and practice with like minded friends. We learn together by watching and discussing video programs from on-line resources. In addition to my training as a Psychologist (Ph. D.) and as a Yoga Teacher (ERYT500), I have had more than thirty years of exploring Buddhist on-line programs, reading the early Buddhist discourses, attending retreats, and exploring internet resources. This has given me a unique perspective that integrates the findings from evidence based psychological interventions with the ancient teachings of India to enhance health, happiness and well being. The organization of these ancient teachings is a template or guide to these principles and practices. There is information about me on the contact us page of this website. I hope my story will inspire you to learn more and practice these ancient skills of mindfulness, meditation and yoga. I will address the questions listed in the invitation below. Please consider joining us at some time to share your own practice.
This is a donation-based-give-what-you-can offering to support the community and is open to all! We will need a headcount so if you are interested in attending, please e-mail the admin at admin@bhavanacommunity.org or sign up by paying 1$ on the PayPal sign-up button below.
At this point, we have invited individuals who are known to bring diverse perspectives on dharma practice from our community. If you would like to contribute to one of our programs, here are some questions we hope you will consider addressing in your presentation. We are particularly interested in supporting diversity of traditions.
1. What is your practice and how did you get there? How has it changed over the years?
2. Who are or have been your root teachers? Tell us a bit about their tradition.
3. In what ways have you seen your own life change as a result of your practice?
4. Can you share some of the practices you have found helpful and lead us through a couple of them?
We meet at 596 Captain Beam Blvd. in Hampstead on the Fifth Sunday of the months that have five Sundays from 2:00 - 4:00pm. This is a donation-based-give-what-you-can offering to support the community and is open to all! These programs are informal, and you may bring nibbles to share for the conversation time at the end of the presentation. We will need a headcount so if you are interested in attending, please contact the admin.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
If you’ve ever felt truly “one” with something, then you’ve experienced inter-meditation. It’s an intentional connection in order to realize non-duality. Practicing inter-meditation helps us deepen our relationships and connections to one another. We will be mindfully practicing inter-meditation techniques and exercises such as sky gazing, Wishing Others Well (WOW) and Letting Go into Isness as taught by Lama Surya Das and led by Kathleen Rankhorn, Ed.S.
ABOUT OUR HOST:
Kathleen Rankhorn is a retired Licensed Professional Counselor and has taught yoga and meditation since 1999. She is also a Reiki Master and Quantum Touch Practitioner. She has studied with Lama Surya since 2004 and currently serves as Retreat Manager for the Dzogchen Foundation and leads Lama Surya’s Tibetan Energy Yoga.
