Throughout the 8 weeks as we explore the modifiable causes and conditions for Alzheimer’s Disease, we will learn to improve our brain health through enjoyable practices and fun challenges.
Class 1: Engaging in a simple brain boosting memory exercise that practiced daily can change the structure of the brain and make the areas responsible for executive function, memory and emotion regulation, sensory input and sensory motor areas grow larger and stronger.
Class 2: Women & Alzheimer’s Disease: Why Women Have a Much Higher Risk for AD. One in 6 women will develop AD as opposed to one in 11 men.
Class 3: You are what you eat! Food is Medicine. Learn how what you eat affects your brain health. Pyramids to Principles: Changing our approach to eating.
Class 4: What you should know about the Glycemic Index and how the food you eat affects your blood sugar levels.
Class 5: How the Standard American Diet affects the way your body digests food and manufactures hormones in the intestinal tract.
Class 6: Learn how Stress Reduction and both Mental and Physical exercise help prevent Alzheimer's.
Class 7: Discover the benefits of social interaction and how having a sense of belonging, community, and meaning in life supports brain health as we age.
Class 8: Sleep: Why a Good Night’s Sleep is Crucial to Brain Health and tips on how to get one.
