You will learn to cultivate mindfulness, ease of heart, joy, kindness and compassion, as well as exploring skillful ways of responding to the turbulence of life. Scientific research has repeatedly documented that meditation can make you happier, healthier, more resilient, and improve memory and brain function as we age. Some of these benefits are from the practice of focus and concentration, and some result from being able to identify and modify the old, habitual response patterns that no longer serve us well. This class will help you develop skillful ways of responding to the difficulties and joys that come up in life and learn to be more fully present and able to meet whatever challenges arise, whether pleasant or unpleasant, with clarity, curiosity, kindness, and compassion through the practice of Mindfulness and Meditation.
