About Rebecca

Rebecca Gellman, ERYT200, 500 RYT, Level 1 iRest, is trained in vinyasa, hatha, and yin style yoga. She completed her initial yoga teacher training in 2015 and advanced training in 2020. She has completed additional training in trauma sensitive yoga and therapeutic yoga. She has been a student of yoga and meditation for over 15 years, frequently sharing the benefits of these practices with her clients. A local health care professional, Rebecca teaches yoga, iRest, and mindfulness to veterans. She enjoys helping yoga students learn to tune in and listen to their bodies to make the best choices for themselves throughout class and how to transfer that off the mat into their everyday lives.

iRest Meditation

iRest meditation is a research based, trauma sensitive meditation, relaxation, and healing protocol that deeply calms the nervous system and is a natural process of mindfulness meditation that combines Buddhist meditation practices and ancient yogic philosophy of yoga nidra (translated to mean yogic sleep).

Extensive research shows iRest effectively helps address: sickness/injury, pain in your body and mind, addiction, anxiety depression, PTSD, and insomnia/sleep disorders.

This practice helps both the physical and emotional aspects of our well-being. iRest teaches self-care tools that lead you to find and experience the self-mastery, resilience, and well-being that you already possess within yourself. iRest is an ideal intervention for helping with emotional self-regulation, ethical decision making, enhancement of cognitive and emotional skills, development of empathy and well-being as well as improving overall physical and mental health.
